My tourists are a bunch of homemade wood figurines which people take to locations all over the world — anywhere they happen to be traveling– and return pictures to post right here. The idea is not a new one; many people have done similar things with objects such as spools of thread, photos of themselves, license plates, etc. I’ve chosen to use more than a single object because it has been my experience that these things tend to get lost! The first character, a weird monk sort of dude, ended up in the hands of an adorable little girl who wouldn’t give him up. Sure, it would have been as easy as taking candy from a baby, but I didn’t have the heart. Many years later I have revived the project.
Right now the cast of characters numbers only four: Dad, Mom, Burger Man, and the Guitar Guy. Burger Man is unfortunately missing in action, and Guitar Guy suffered some damage to his guitar. Others are in various stages of development. If you are planing on going anywhere interesting, or live somewhere cool, let me know. You could be an official tourist escort!
